Performance Management

Giving Feedback and Personal Development Plans

Performance management is about establishing a culture in which individuals and groups take responsibility for continuous improvement. The improvement of business processes, customer focus, their personal development and actions.

The process must establish a shared understanding about what is to be achieved and an approach to leading and developing people that ensures the goal is reached.

Performance Management

Leaders and managers must ensure their people and teams know and understand what is expected of them, have the opportunity to discuss and contribute to individual and team aims and objectives. They must also have the skills and ability to deliver and be supported by the organisation to develop their capacity to meet expectations.

Feedback on performance and the skill of setting development plans is essential for a learning organisation and continual improvement. Our experience has shown that this is the greatest challenge for your line managers.  Time after time participants tell us that this is the area in which they feel most vulnerable and in which they need more development to improve their confidence in challenging others.

This ‘Step’ is designed so that participants understand the nature of continuous improvement. They will learn the importance of aiming for the right goals and will practice setting the objectives and targets that are fit for purpose. A framework to improve the innovative culture provides something tangible to implement in the workplace.

Participants will practice giving feedback, identifying areas for improvement and formulating personal and team development plans.
